Born in Mission Hills, CA, Hardcastle served as a cavalry scout with the US Army in Afghanistan, his obituary says.

Hardcastle was also a member of the YMIA, the Bernadine-May American Legion Post, and St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, according to his memorial.

Hardcastle loved the New York Giants football team and is remembered as a “very proud veteran.”

Hardcastle is survived by Diane M. Huber & Clark F. Saul; his wife, Ashley Lukachek Hardcastle, and children; John W. Hardcastle Jr., Michael Hardcastle, Silas Hardcastle, and Allison Hardcastle; brothers; Rickey L. Tarboro and wife Stefanie, Jason R. Tarboro and wife Wanda, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Hardcastle’s calling hours will be held August 5 at the Finegan Funeral Home on Heckman Street in Phillipsburg.

Donations can be made in Hardcastle’s memory to the funeral home.
